Description

The VVMA is proud to offer veterinary medical personnel the opportunity to expand their professional growth by offering an online Certified Veterinary Assistant training program. The CVA program has evolved from the awareness that training and career development are key attributes of successful veterinary practices.

With this focus, the VVMA has adopted a formal program developed by the VVMA in partnership with the Texas VMA and Patterson Veterinary Academy to train and certify those individuals wishing to follow a career path as a Veterinary Assistant. This program has been implemented in hundreds of hospitals across the country and has resulted in over a thousand CVAs since its inception. The Vermont Veterinary Medical Association embraces the goals and objectives of this program recognizing CVAs in Vermont will benefit themselves, the profession and the animals it serves.

Our hope is that this program will serve a need to better prepare individuals to become veterinary assistants and in some cases may increase awareness of career opportunities within the veterinary profession and for some individuals, this may be a path for some to eventually move on to seek a path towards becoming certified veterinary techniciansĀ
