Description

The Workforce Center of Excellence specializes in combining technical skills, workplace readiness and career awareness. In partnership with HatchSpace, the Basics in Construction & Working in the Building Trades training will deliver both hands-on construction and carpentry basics and workplace-based employability and soft skills training. Participants will learn fundamentals of measuring, identification of common building materials, introduction to woodworking tools, and more.

Additionally, participants will walk away with an understanding of the current state of the construction industry in Southeastern Vermont, including the demands and the opportunities that those demands present.

This program was designed in partnership with our residential construction companies, producing participants whom these employers can train less and trust more.

This program will be hosted two locations: BDCC's Workforce Center at 8 Flat St, Brattleboro, VT and HatchSpace's facility at 22 High St, Brattleboro, VT 05301.
