Description
This workforce program prepares participants for entry-level IT jobs that install, configure, secure, and troubleshoot laptops/desktops, mobile devices, peripherals, operating systems, AI tools, and networks. Students learn mobile devices, networking, hardware, virtualization & cloud, troubleshooting, operating systems, security, operational procedure and AI fundamentals. Training emphasizes performance-based, scenario-driven practice.
A free laptop is provided to all students.
Graduates will be able to:
- Install, configure, and maintain laptops, desktops, mobile devices, printers, and peripherals.
- Set up and support SOHO wired/wireless networks (IP addressing, ports/protocols, Wi-Fi, VPN, router/AP configuration).
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity using structured methodologies and diagnostic tools.
- Implement and explain virtualization and basic cloud concepts in client environments.
- Apply cybersecurity fundamentals (least privilege, authentication, encryption, malware prevention, secure wireless).
- Administer and troubleshoot Windows, macOS, Linux, ChromeOS, and mobile OS features (installations, updates, CLI/GUI tools).
- Follow professional communication, documentation/ticketing, safety, ESD/environmental disposal, backup & recovery best practices.
- Apply AI essentials and fundamentals for use in the workplace.
