Description

Job preparedness and workplace skills is an area of workforce development that BDCC specializes in. In partnership with Technology 4 Tomorrow, the Digital Skills for the Office and Workplace training will deliver both generalized digital literacy and workplace-based digital skills, an area of training with a dire need for incumbent and entering workers. With a changing labor market and ubiquitous digital environment, being digitally literate has shifted from an employer’s preference to a requirement. For incumbent workers, moving from entry level into supervisory or managerial positions requires acquiring administrative skills, which in today’s organizations are typically executed through digital platforms. Google Suite is a powerful tool for any individual seeking the ability to utilize software in word processing, spreadsheets, file management, presentations, etc. Furthermore, Google Suite is available to anybody who has a Google Email (Gmail) account, and is universally accessible. This course will facilitate the skill acquisition needed to successfully navigate the Google Suite of workplace tools, including the many transferable skills that can be applied to Microsoft Office and technology in the workplace more generally.
