Job Description

The Essex House & Tavern in Island Pond is looking for a friendly, dependable Bartender / Server to join our team. We prefer someone with training and experience in Bartending. If you enjoy working with people, providing great service, and being part of a team that pitches in together, we'd like to hear from you.

Responsibilities include:

• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages
• Take food and beverage orders accurately and provide timely, attentive service
• Serve tables as well as tend bar as needed
• Answer guest questions about menu items and make recommendations
• Process orders and payments accurately using our POS system
• Maintain a clean, organized and properly stocked bar and service area
• Follow food-safety and responsible alcohol-service requirements
• Communicate effectively with the kitchen and other team members
• Help wherever needed to keep service running smoothly

We're looking for someone who:

• Is friendly, dependable and responsible
• Enjoys providing good customer service
• Works well as part of a team
• Can stay organized and attentive during busy periods
• Is willing to pitch in wherever needed
• Has bartending and/or serving experience; however, we will consider the right person with less experience who is willing and able to learn
• Is available for evenings and weekends
• Is at least 18 years old, as required for alcohol-service responsibilities

Compensation:

For a strong, full-time Bartender / Server, potential total annual earnings may reach $60,000–$80,000, depending on hours and shifts worked, customer volume, and tips. This earnings range represents potential total compensation and is not guaranteed. This is a tipped position with a $7.21/hour base wage plus tips.
