Job Description
OverviewBuildings and General Services (BGS) at the State of Vermont has an opportunity with room for growth as a BGS Custodian IV at the Waterbury State Office Complex.
As a Custodian IV, you will be a lead and responsible for all aspects of cleaning around the Waterbury State Office Complex and training new employees as needed. You will also be responsible for ordering supplies for staff with the guidance of the Custodial Supervisor. You could be working alone or as a team on cleaning projects with a diverse group.
This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, 10:00am to 6:30pm. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a background check are required.
The Department of BGS is a diverse organization with over 340 employees serving state agencies and departments within State Government. BGS provides the facilities services required for all state agencies and departments to accomplish their missions.
Duties are performed during an assigned shift at one or more state owned or leased buildings. Cleaning work often involves addressing bloodborne pathogens and other potentially infections material. Incumbents must be able to work outdoors in all types of weather. Good physical condition and ability to climb ladders and lift weights of up to 50-lbs. is necessary. Overtime and evening work may be required.
