Job Title: Head Chef
Department: Food and Beverage
Position Status: Full-Time
Pay Range: $50-55,000/year
FLSA Status: Exempt
Reports To: Director of Food and Beverage
Date: September 2026
Job Summary: The Head Chef is responsible for all kitchen functions, including food preparation and presentation, kitchen staff, cleanliness standards, and customer service.
Essential Functions:
Chef functions:
- Prepare breakfast, lunch and dinner food
- Cook and replenish food as necessary
- Order food inventory for menu item ingredients
- Oversee the proper functioning and repair of kitchen equipment
- Prep food for each work day
- Oversee the appearance of food displays and the quality of the food being served
Additional responsibilities:
- Supervise and motivate a staff of approximately 8 kitchen staff including hiring and firing in consultation with the Director of Food and Beverage
- Schedule staff work hours
- Train staff in food safety requirements
- Monitor cleanliness of facilities
- Assist in the management of all other food outlet locations around the resort in concert with F&B Director
Other Functions:
- Shovel snow near the restaurant entrance
NOTE: All Bolton Valley employees are required to perform alternate functions from time to time, both within and outside of their assigned department, particularly during peak periods such as holiday weekends.
