About Ida’s House of Vermont

Ida’s House of Vermont is a small residential care home in Brandon, Vermont, providing a supportive, respectful, and home-like environment for older adults. We are seeking compassionate, dependable, and responsible caregivers who enjoy working with seniors and want to make a meaningful difference in their daily lives.

Position Summary

Caregivers provide direct support to residents with their daily needs while promoting independence, dignity, safety, and quality of life.

We are currently hiring:

  • 2 Full-Time Caregivers
  • 2 Part-Time Caregivers
  • Pay: $20.00 per hour

Primary Responsibilities

Responsibilities may include:

  • Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs)
  • Assist with dressing, grooming, bathing, toileting, and other personal-care needs as appropriate
  • Provide mobility and transfer assistance as needed
  • Prepare and serve meals and assist residents during meals when necessary
  • Encourage adequate hydration
  • Provide companionship and meaningful interaction
  • Assist residents with recreational and social activities
  • Perform light housekeeping related to resident care and maintaining a clean, safe environment
  • Observe residents for changes in physical, cognitive, emotional, or behavioral status
  • Promptly report concerns or changes in condition to the appropriate supervisor
  • Complete required caregiver documentation accurately and timely
  • Follow resident care plans and Ida’s House policies and procedures
  • Assist with medication-related responsibilities only when appropriately trained, authorized, and delegated
  • Maintain resident privacy, dignity, confidentiality, and professional boundaries
  • Work cooperatively with other caregivers, nursing staff, management, residents, and families

Qualifications

We are looking for applicants who:

  • Are compassionate, patient, respectful, and dependable
  • Have a genuine interest in working with older adults
  • Are comfortable assisting residents with personal care
  • Are able to communicate effectively and respectfully
  • Can follow written and verbal instructions
  • Are reliable and punctual
  • Are able to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Are willing to learn about dementia, memory loss, aging, and person-centered care
  • Are willing to complete required orientation and training
  • Are able to meet applicable employment and regulatory requirements for working in a Vermont residential care setting
  • Are able to successfully complete required background and registry checks

Experience

Previous experience as a caregiver, personal care assistant, home health aide, CNA/LNA, residential care worker, or in another senior-care setting is preferred but not required.

We welcome applicants who may not have extensive professional caregiving experience but demonstrate compassion, reliability, professionalism, a willingness to learn, and a commitment to providing quality care to older adults.

Training and orientation are provided.
