Job Description
OverviewThe Retirement Division of the State's Treasurer's Office is looking for a highly organized, independent, and proactive individual who is detail-oriented, with strong written and oral communication skills to serve as a Retirement Research and Policy Manager. Duties include primary staffing of the Supplemental Plans (including defined contribution plans, deferred compensation plans, a single deposit investment account, municipal retiree health savings plan) and retiree health insurance plans (primarily for the Teachers system).
Additional work includes financial and professional level review work, work with System actuaries to analyze trends, oversight of contracted entities who provide support to the systems, and analysis of legislative proposals, among other things. This position may serve as secretary (or back-up) of the three defined benefit retirement boards and organize monthly meetings of each of the retirement boards, and other ad hoc meetings. Ability to work with data from multiple sources and produce analysis, forecasts, and visually appealing summaries is expected. This position reports directly to the Director of the Vermont Retirement Systems of the Office of Vermont State Treasurer.
Environmental FactorsDuties are performed primarily in a standard office setting. Interaction with state and federal officials and organizations may be required. Incumbents must be adaptable and able to work within tight deadlines and under considerable stress. Some evening and weekend duty may be necessary.
