Acousta Therm Corporation has been serving Vermont and Northern New England for over 60 years, providing mechanical insulation solutions for commercial, industrial, healthcare, education, manufacturing, and institutional projects.
We're looking for a motivated, detail-oriented Commercial Construction Estimator to join our growing team. This position is primarily focused on estimating while also providing project support after projects are awarded. The successful candidate will work closely with company leadership and have the opportunity to grow into additional responsibilities over time.
Whether you're currently estimating for an HVAC contractor, plumbing contractor, mechanical contractor, sheet metal contractor, general contractor, or another commercial trade, we'd love to talk with you.
What You'll Do Estimating-
Review construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents

Perform quantity takeoffs and prepare accurate project estimates

Prepare detailed bid proposals and scope clarifications

Solicit and evaluate supplier and subcontractor pricing

Attend pre-bid meetings when required
-
Track bids and maintain estimating spreadsheets and project files

Coordinate with ownership throughout the bidding process

Assist with project turnover after award

Review and prepare submittals and shop drawings

Process RFIs, change orders, and project documentation

Coordinate with project managers, field personnel, suppliers, and general contractors

Assist with material procurement and project scheduling

Help ensure projects move smoothly from award through closeout

Commercial construction estimating experience
-
Experience reading plans, specifications, and construction documents
-
Strong quantity takeoff skills
-
Familiarity with commercial bidding procedures
-
Experience with submittals, RFIs, and change orders
-
Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills
-
Excellent organizational and communication skills
-
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
