Position Summary

The Manager of QA and Automation will lead a team responsible for ensuring the quality of web-based, cloud-based, and client/server applications, with a focus on e-commerce platforms, tax integration systems, and automation. This role requires extensive experience in backend/database testing (via SQL queries), as well as expertise in developing and overseeing automation frameworks. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills in managing the team’s testing processes and be adept at fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement, especially within complex e-commerce and tax environments.

Responsibilities

+ Incorporate the use of AI across platforms used by the organization, including Salesforce applications, e-commerce platforms, tax integration systems, CI/CD pipelines, and QA automation tools, to improve test coverage, accelerate defect identification, support intelligent analysis of quality metrics, reduce manual effort, and drive continuous improvement in software quality and operational efficiency

+ Lead the design, development, and implementation of comprehensive test automation frameworks for Salesforce applications, e-commerce platforms, and tax integration systems, focusing on minimizing manual testing and maximizing efficiency through automation.

+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, business analysts, and product owners, to identify automation opportunities early in the software development lifecycle, building automated test cases during the initial stages of development to ensure seamless integration and early defect detection.

+ Participate in Proof of Concept (POC) initiatives for new automation tools and frameworks, evaluating their suitability for enhancing the organization’s automation capabilities, particularly in e-commerce and tax systems.

+ Oversee the automation of functional, regression, integration, and performance tests to ensure comprehensive test coverage for e-commerce transactions, tax calculations, and system integrations, minimizing the need for manual intervention.

+ Drive the adoption and continuous improvement of automation tools and best practices across the team, ensuring the creation of scalable, reusable, and robust automated test scripts.

+ Champion an “automation-first” approach by integrating automated testing into the development process from the start, reducing reliance on manual testing while maintaining high standards of quality.

+ Lead automation initiatives to integrate test scripts into CI/CD pipelines, ensuring consistent execution of automated tests across all builds and early identification of defects in e-commerce and tax systems.

+ Serve as the primary advocate for automation across the organization, continuously reviewing and optimizing automation strategies to ensure full coverage and alignment with business objectives, especially in critical areas like e-commerce workflows and tax compliance.

+ Build and maintain automated test cases in the preliminary stages of software development, ensuring that automation is embedded throughout the lifecycle and manual testing is minimized.

+ Collaborate closely with development teams to address and resolve issues identified through automated tests, ensuring prompt and effective solutions.

+ Continuously monitor and evaluate software quality metrics, focusing on improving automation efficiency and identifying gaps in coverage for e-commerce and tax systems.

+ Provide mentorship and training to the QA and Automation team on automation tools, frameworks, and best practices, ensuring the team is well-equipped to handle complex automation scenarios.

+ Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in automation technologies, particularly those relevant to e-commerce and tax systems, and incorporate them into the organization’s testing strategy.

+ Ensure high-quality software releases that meet business and functional requirements for e-commerce and tax systems.

+ Lead the implementation and optimization of test automation, ensuring that e-commerce workflows, tax compliance, and payment systems are thoroughly and efficiently tested.

+ Drive continuous improvement efforts to streamline QA processes and implement innovative automation technologies, ensuring maximum coverage and performance in e-commerce and tax integrations.

+ Track and report production bugs, providing detailed analyses of trends, root causes, and preventive measures to improve system reliability, particularly for e-commerce and tax systems.

+ Oversee the creation of detailed production bug reports and ensure timely tracking, reporting, and communication of the issues to all relevant stakeholders.

+ Ensure accurate and timely defect tracking and reporting, with clear communication of risks and issues to stakeholders.

+ Foster a collaborative working environment across the organization, aligning the QA team with broader company goals and objectives, particularly in areas of automation, e-commerce, and tax compliance.

+ Maintain the following working relationships:

+ Developers : Work closely with the development team to troubleshoot and resolve issues, particularly in relation to e-commerce transactions, tax workflows, and automation testing.

+ Business Analysts : Collaborate to understand and validate system requirements, ensuring testing aligns with business objectives, especially in e-commerce and tax functionalities.

+ Product Owners : Provide insights on quality metrics, defect trends, and testing progress, offering risk assessments and updates related to e-commerce and tax features.

+ QA and Automation Team : Lead and mentor the team, ensuring alignment with project goals and fostering a collaborative and innovative approach to automation, e-commerce, and tax testing.

+ Operations and Support Teams : Coordinate with operations to ensure smooth deployments and post-production validation for critical e-commerce and tax systems.

+ Perform mischellaneous duties, as required.
