Position Overview:
As a Project Manager at Merrill Mechanical, you will be responsible for overseeing all facets of commercial and residential plumbing and HVAC projects from start to finish. You will coordinate with subcontractors, clients, and internal teams to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong organizational skills, technical knowledge, and effective communication.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage all phases of plumbing and HVAC projects, from pre-construction through commissioning and warranty issues.
• Prepare and review project estimates and budgets.
• Coordinate and manage purchasing of materials and equipment.  Monitoring lead times, facilitating storage and returns.
• Review, submit, and manage submittals, shop drawings, owners manuals and all project documentation.
• Create and respond to Requests for Information (RFIs) and provide timely solutions.
• Develop pricing and generate change orders according to project requirements.
• Oversee project schedules, ensuring deadlines are met.
• Supervise employees, subcontractors and trade partners.
• Ensure projects comply with quality standards, safety regulations, and client requirements.
• Assist with commissioning, start-up, and closeout of projects.
• Maintain effective communication with clients, architects, engineers, and internal team members.  Attend all jobsite meetings.
• Monitor job expenditures to ensure projects remain within budget and provide accurate cost-to-complete projections.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of experience managing commercial plumbing and HVAC projects.
• Strong knowledge of estimating, purchasing, and project documentation.
• Experience with RFIs, submittals, and project scheduling.
• Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proficient with Google Workspace and project management software.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
