Digital Communications Specialist II

Job Description

Overview

This position will lead the maintenance and operations of the Department of Vermont Health Access (DVHA) websites and other digital content published by DVHA. They will be required to manage both fast pace projects with quick turn arounds and longer, strategic projects. They will need to be able to make many updates quickly, be organized and able to track various website tasks. 


This role is highly collaborative but also has a high level of independence. The position will be expected to collaborate with members from various levels of the organization related to subject content and timelines. The position will act independently as it will be the website and digital content subject matter expert and will be looked to for everything from advice and guidance to implementation.


The position will report to the DVHA Director of Customer Communication. 


Experience with the following is desired: 
Website administration, specifically Drupal 10
Website strategy
Website design
Working with a interdisciplinary team
Using a project managment tool
Microsoft Office suite
 
The applicant should have: 
Strong organizational skills 
Attention to detail
Familiarity with plain language

As of July 12, 2026, the step 1 rate for pay grade 25 will be $31.54 per hour and the step 15 rate will be $49.45 per hour.

Environmental Factors

Duties are performed primarily in a standard office setting, or in schools, community centers or other non-industrial sites. The position may involve significant travel for outside meetings or field work, for which private means of transportation must be available. Some work outside of normal office hours may be required. This position is subject to State Personnel Policies and Agency of Education guidelines for telework, however in-person office attendance or fieldwork may be required as necessary to support the Agency’s communications goals.
