Infant Toddler Teacher

Since 1965, Capstone Community Action has supported individuals and families in Central Vermont in achieving economic and housing stability and rising out of poverty. Capstone’s early childhood education and family services are central to its mission, offering center-based and home-based Head Start and Early Head Start programs that support positive child, family, and community outcomes that use a whole-child approach and actively engage parents as partners in their children’s early learning and development.

 

Qualifications: The required minimum qualifications for the Infant and Toddler Teacher include a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or comparable credential, and training or equivalent coursework in early childhood development with a focus on infant and toddler development

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive Pay: $19.13-$22.71 per hour!
  • 40-hour week -> Monday through Friday!

Preferred Experience Requests

  • Experience working with infants and toddlers is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) with young children and adults.
  • Working knowledge of community resources, parenting issues, adult learning styles, and sensitivity to the needs of low-income families.
  • Must be able to evacuate infants and toddlers from the building in a timely, efficient manner.
  • Must be able to assist toddlers in navigating stairs, playground equipment and changing tables. Must be able to quickly catch up to a fleeing toddler.
  • Reliable transportation, valid Vermont driver's license and proof of insurance.
  • Commitment to a flexible work schedule
  • Commitment to working as part of a local team and acceptance of supervision.
