PRIMARY EMPLOYMENT OBJECTIVES
The Manufacturing Operator I is an entry-level position responsible for working in one or more production areas, including Assembly, Cutting, Edge-Blast-Drill, Finish, Cosmetic Conformance, and Staple & Trim.
This role plays a key part in ensuring all production activities meet established quality standards, follow written work instructions, and adhere to safety guidelines. The operator is expected to contribute to maintaining a safe, efficient, and productive work environment.
SPECIFIC ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assembly: Assist in assembling components and ensuring the final product meets specifications.
- Cutting: Operate cutting tables and other cutting machinery to ensure material is cut to the proper template or program.
- Edge-Blast-Drill: Perform laser, edge-blasting and/or drilling operations on product to prepare them for further processing.
- Cosmetic Conformance: ensure product meets specifications prior to next step in the process. Sanding, filling, trim fibers and cleaning to confirm the proper specifications are met.
- Finish: Apply finishing techniques, including polishing, sanding, or coating, to ensure high-quality final products.
- Paint: Mix and apply paint or coating to products using manual or automated systems, ensuring uniform coverage and finish to meet written requirements.
- Staple & Trim: Perform stapling, trimming, and other finishing tasks to products.
- Perform assigned production tasks accurately and efficiently in designated areas (e.g., Assembly, Cutting, Finishing).
- Follow all written work instructions, standard operating procedures, and safety guidelines.
- Maintain product quality by meeting established specifications and reporting any defects or inconsistencies.
- Support production goals by meeting daily output targets and minimizing waste.
- Ensure a clean, organized, and safe work environment (5S practices, housekeeping, etc.).
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding production status or issues.
- Participate in training and continuously develop skills to improve performance and flexibility across work areas.
- Demonstrate flexiablity in performing new assignments and miscellaneous duties as required by the Team Lead or supervisor, including supporting team members in other areas as needed.

Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to perform tasks accurately and efficiently.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with colleagues.
- Flexibility to work across multiple departments and perform a variety of tasks.
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment operation.
- Commitment to workplace safety and maintaining a safe work environment.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to perform visual inspections and identify cosmetic defects according to established criteria.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including rotating between workstations as needed.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience Requirements
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
- Previous quality control or inspection experience is a plus.
- High level of attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to participate in discussions and provide feedback and suggestions for process improvement.
- Reliable and dependable, with consistent attendance and adherence to scheduled work hours.
- Basic math skills and the ability to accurately record production data and complete paperwork legibly.
- Mechanical aptitude preferred.
- Cooperative team player with the ability to assist co-workers and adapt to various roles within the manufacturing department.
Work Environment (Physical Requirements)
- Work is performed in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
- Some positions require lifting and moving up to 35 pounds.
- Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including eye protection; hearing and respiratory protection may also be required.
- Some positions require standing for extended periods of time.
