Job Description

Amergis Healthcare has an opportunity for Residential Acute Care Workers and Direct Support Professionals to provide support in residential homes and community based settings at multiple locations in Chittenden County.

Pay: $20 – $27/hour based on experience, plus $500 sign on bonus

Qualifications:

+ 2-3 years experience in a behavioral setting

+ Must be comfortable working 1 on 1, sometimes with severe cases

+ Valid driver’s license, and use of a personal vehicle to transport residents as needed

+ Associate’s Degree, Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Counseling, Nursing or other Human Development Major

+ High school degree or equivalent

+ Routine lifting

+ Ability to work either Saturday or Sunday

+ Knowledge of medical equipment

+ Committed to trauma-informed approach

Schedule: 32-40 hours per week, multiple shifts available, 1 weekend day per week

Job Duties:

+ Transport residents in personal vehicle as needed

+ Initiate constructive activities that address goals on a client’s Individual treatment plan

+ Implement support and crisis plans in collaboration with the treatment team.

+ Facilitate community inclusion, daily living, and skill acquisition

+ Utilization of sound judgement and maintenance of calm demeanor during crisis

+ Provide needed behavioral and/or mental health support

+ Provide needed personal and/or medical care

Duration: Temp to Perm
