Cancer Communications Professional
Posting Summary
Provide specialized multimedia services and perform marketing, public relations, and design functions to maximize the reach of existing University of Vermont Cancer Center communications initiatives. Develop concepts, strategies, goals, and objectives associated with building the UVM Cancer Center's (UVMCC) brand and expanded brand reach. Collaborate to expand and maintain communication initiatives across various platforms including e-newsletters, web (drupal 10), print communications, and social medial channels. Work collaboratively, with limited supervision, with internal and external teams to ensure consistency and quality of production materials and provide public relations assistance specific to the UVMCC. Use creativity to design, produce and place branded materials. Use independent judgement in prioritizing work and applying methods and make recommendations for updated tools and techniques where appropriate, incorporating an understanding of other job areas. Analyze and resolve issues by drawing from prior experiences.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Bachelor's degree in a related field and two to four years' experience required. Demonstrated experience performing a variety of tasks associated with graphic design, web editing, and producing/creating digital and print materials for marketing and public relations efforts. Previous experience working in a team-based environment.
Desirable Qualifications
Experience preferred with shooting and editing videos for social media and other platforms. Attention to detail and quality control, including proofreading, preferred. Comfort working with subject matter experts such as health professionals, patients, and scientists.
Anticipated Pay Range
$62,000 - $67,000
Other Information
Driver's license required - to occasionally drive Cancer Center van.
Special Conditions
A probationary period may be required, Occasional evening and/or weekends required (if non-exempt position, may result in overtime), Travel to and from worksites required, This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule with an option to split time between campus and elsewhere, in accordance with the university telecommuting policy, Background Check required for this position
