Job Description
OverviewThe Vermont Department Of Corrections is looking for a Recreation Sercices Coordinator to work with incarcerated individuals at Northeast Correctional Complex in St. Johnsbury. In this role, you will:
- Develop and deliver leisure programs for the incarcerated individuals
- Help in developing the budget for recreation services
- Are an active participant on the Recreation Fund Committee
- Be responsible for handing out commissary and getting the appropriate documentation signed
- Be esponsible for basic tablet issuance and questions/concerns
- Issue, control and inventory supplies and equipment
- Process rec related request forms
- Hire certain incarcerated individuals for positions such as facility barbers or unit rec representatives
- Prepare incarcerated individual payroll as appropriate
- Assist education services with overseeing the incarcerated individual library
- Direct supervision of barber services
- Provide facility reports as appropriate
- Oversee the cleanliness of the gym and associated equipment

- Duties are performed primarily within an institutional setting. Incumbents must possess considerable interpersonal human relations skills, including patience, understanding, and humor, to deal effectively with the institution’s inmate population and other staff members. Emotional and mental stability is required.
