General Purpose

and ground transportation sectors by strategically electrifying, managing demand, realizing efficiency gains, and
expanding local renewable generation while increasing system resilience.
The Auxiliary Operator removes all material from ash hoppers, performs regular inspection and routine maintenance of
ash handling equipment and operates the fossil fuel burners on the main boiler at the McNeil Station.

Pay Grade 8: $25.57 - $41.92 Hourly
Remote Tier 1: Zero (0) days remote/week.
Essential Job Functions
Safely operates fly ash, bottom ash, and char reinjection system.
Removes fly ash from ash conditioner and transports same to on-site storage.
Removes bottom ash and transports same to ash storage.
Conducts the operating functions of the fuel burners on the main boiler.
Inspects all ash handling equipment on a regular basis.
Performs periodic greasing and oiling of ash handling and fossil fuel burning equipment.
Performs routine maintenance on ash handlingequipment and char reinjection system as required.
Assist the maintenance staff as needed.
Operates a variety of machinery and heavy equipment including a front-end loader and dump truck.
Assists the Senior Station Operator, Station Operator and Yardworker as required.
Must be able to give and receive communications clearly and accurately via two-way radio
Responsible for cleaning assigned area.
Cover the shift of a Yard-Worker as needed.

Qualifications/Basic Job Requirements

High school diploma required or GED.
Working knowledge of steam boilers, power plant auxiliary equipment, and mechanical maintenance skills
required.
Six months experience at the McNeil Station preferred.
Must be able to operate a variety of machinery and heavy equipment including a front-end loader and dump truck.
Must be in good physical condition.
Ability to interact harmoniously with co-workers.
Ability to pass a Pulmonary Function Test.
Ability to wear a respirator
Regular attendance is necessary and is essential to meeting the expectations of the job functions.
Ability to understand and comply with City standards, safety rules and personnel policies.
Rotating shift schedule.
Ability to work overtime as needed consistent with the provisions of the BED/IBEW Collective Bargaining
Agreement.
