Job Description

The State of Vermont Information Center Division is seeking motivated, self-starting, individuals with strong interpersonal skills and a desire to promote Vermont and welcome visitors to our State. This position will be located at the Sharon Northbound Welcome Center on Interstate 89. Duties include a combination of customer service tasks involving greeting and providing information to visitors, map reading, and record keeping. This position also requires custodial tasks such as hourly cleaning of rest rooms, mopping, snow removal (including shoveling and/or use of snow blower) and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Candidate should also possess the ability to use Microsoft Office software. Applicants must be self-starters and be able to work independently, highly motivated and task oriented, and possess attention to detail.

This position will work: Thursday 11am -7pm, Fri & Sat 7am - 3pm, and Sun & Mon 12pm-8pm. A second shift differential of $2.00 and weekend shift differential of $1.50 will apply to the base rate.

Work is usually performed at an assigned facility. Duties may include the occasional lifting or carrying of up to 50 pounds. Evening and weekend shifts may be required. Some overtime work may be necessary. Incumbents must be able to work out of doors in all weather, and on rough and slippery ground. Field travel may be necessary for which private means of transportation must be available.
