Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY: We are seeking 1-2 people Part-Time or Full time, with a mix of weekdays, nights and weekends for Facilities department at the Best Western Windjammer Inn & Conference Center. This role is key to creating a safe and attractive environment for guests and associates by ensuring the hotel is maintained in accordance with all operating and safety standards
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To act as a company representative in relation to guests as it pertains to the building and grounds upkeep of the restaurant and the hotel
- Assist in the maintenance of the property including painting, steaming carpets, general repair of hotel rooms and kitchen, minor plumbing and electrical work, garbage removal, grounds maintenance
- Maintains safety and cleanliness of the exterior of the hotel, grounds, pool and exercise room
- Drives scheduled Shuttle to/from Airport and Hospital; Helps with baggage
- Keeps walkways and parking lots free from snow and ice
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- General maintenance experience with hotels or apartments
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.,
- Ability to push, pull, bend, stoop, and reach upward
- Ability to tolerate exposure to extreme temperatures and cleaning chemicals
- Ability to communicate effectively with guests and coworkers
- A clean driving record is a must, (to drive our local shuttle van).
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Lifting/moving up to 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting/carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Bending, handling, walking, reaching, standing and driving. Use of 2, 6, 8 ft. step ladder and a 18 ft. aluminum and 28 ft. fiberglass ladders. Respirators are used when handling chlorine during pool cleaning
