Job Description

Buildings & General Service (BGS) at the State of Vermont has an exciting and unique opportunity with room for growth as a Custodian II within the Operations & Management Division. This position will be responsible for the daily custodial duties at the Asa Bloomer Building in Rutland, VT. The position will also work as part of a larger team that performs these duties at other state facilities within the greater Rutland Area. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, general cleaning duties, care of floors, use and upkeep of floorcare equipment, and management of custodial supplies. 

This is a full-time position and the hours are Monday through Friday 3:00PM to 11:30PM. A valid driver's license and successful completion of multiple background checks are required.

Duties are performed during an assigned shift at one or more state owned or leased buildings. Cleaning work often involves addressing bloodborne pathogens and other potentially infections material. Incumbents must be able to work outdoors in all types of weather. Good physical condition and ability to climb ladders and lift weights of up to 50-lbs. is necessary. Overtime and evening work may be required.
