Job Description
OverviewThe Vermont Department of Health is looking for an energetic person to strategic leadership, policy direction, and operational oversight for statewide programs supporting individuals in recovery from substance use disorders. This position leads the development and implementation of recovery-oriented systems of care and works collaboratively with community partners, healthcare providers, and state and federal agencies to expand access to effective recovery supports.
This position ensures programs align with evidence-based practices, federal and state regulations, and the state's broader public health strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and strategic direction for statewide SUD recovery support services and initiatives.
- Develop and implement policies that promote recovery-oriented systems of care.
- Oversee contracts, grants, and program performance for recovery support providers.
- Collaborate with community organizations, healthcare systems, recovery community organizations, and peer support networks.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Lead initiatives to improve service access, equity, and outcomes for individuals with substance use disorders.
- Analyze program data and evaluation findings to inform policy, funding, and program improvements.
- Manage program budgets and allocate resources to support statewide recovery services.
- Represent the agency in interagency workgroups, legislative briefings, and stakeholder meetings.
