Aircraft Maintenance Technician

at Heritage Aviation in South Burlington, Vermont, United States

Job Description

  • Aircraft Maintenance Technician

    What We Do

At Heritage Aviation, we take care of airplanes the right way: with a sense of ownership. We’re a high-end MRO focused on premium piston aircraft, turboprops, and jets, supporting owners and operators who expect precision, transparency, and pride in workmanship.

Our technicians handle a mix of scheduled inspections, unscheduled maintenance, troubleshooting, and AOG support. The work is hands-on and detail-driven—airframes, engines, landing gear, and aircraft systems including electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Safety isn’t a slogan here; it’s how we work. Everything we do is performed in compliance with FAA regulations, OEM data, and our Part 145 quality system.

We’re a disciplined, professional shop—but not a stuffy one. We value teamwork, accountability, and technicians who care about doing things correctly the first time.

    What You Bring

    • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate in good standing
    • High School Diploma or GED
    • 1–3 years of experience working on high-performance piston, turboprop, or turbine aircraft (corporate jet experience preferred; avionics experience is a plus)
    • A natural curiosity for technical topics and details—you like understanding how systems work, not just changing parts
    • Strong troubleshooting skills and a methodical approach to finding root cause
    • Clear communication skills and the ability to work well with teammates, customers, and leadership
    • Comfort moving between scheduled maintenance and AOG support as priorities change
    • Willingness to participate in on-call rotations, including nights and holidays
    • Ability to pass DOT drug and alcohol testing and obtain a SIDA badge

    Physical & Work Environment

    • Ability to work in confined or awkward positions and on ladders or scaffolding
    • Ability to lift and pull up to 50 pounds
    • Manual dexterity, strength, visual acuity, and hearing required for aircraft maintenance tasks
    • Willingness to work in variable shop and weather conditions, including noise, dust, and jet fumes

    Our Commitment to You

    • Competitive pay: $26.62–$40.60 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
    • Comprehensive benefits package, including company stock and a profit-sharing bonus
    • 10-hour day shifts, Monday through Saturday
    • Paid on-call opportunities for nights and holidays
    • A clean, professional, and well-equipped work environment
    • Ongoing training and professional development to keep your skills sharp and your career moving forward
    • A culture that respects technicians, values craftsmanship, and supports doing the job right—not just fast
