Job Description
Pay Range: $16 to $18 Depending on Experience Benefit Package: Including Paid Time Off, 401k Retirement Account with a company match, wellness benefit and a store discount! Shift Requirement: One weekend day (Saturday or Sunday) is required each week. If you’re available both Saturday and Sunday—even better! Please note that holidays and the summer season are our busiest times, so we do need advance planning and a strong commitment during these peak periods. Our baristas assist customers by taking orders and making specialty drinks, providing fresh brewed coffee, tea, and all the extras to go with them! We keep the job expectations simple by providing you with Five Roles (the five most important things you will be expected to do on a daily basis). 1. Extra-mile service 2. Preparing and serving beverages, ranging from simple to elaborate ones 3. Maintaining a clean and sanitary environment 4. Assists with inventory and supply needs 5. Occasionally helps in other deli areas What you'll be doing: • Waiting on customers • Communicating with other departments on product needs • Making coffee • Making espresso beverages • Maintaining the coffee bar • Maintaining the bulk and bagged coffee areas • Maintaining a clean, safe and orderly work area • Helping to clean at the close of business • Provide customers with product details, such as coffee blend or preparation descriptions. • Remove trash • Receive and stock supplies and products. • Clean or sanitize work areas, utensils, or equipment. • Weigh and grind coffee beans • Stock guest service stations with paper products or beverage preparation items. • Stocking and serving from the prepared foods and bakery cases • Wrap, label, and date food items for sale. What you'll need to succeed: • An interest in learning about the various types of products, procedures, and standards that make working as a barista an interesting career • A cheerful and urgent-yet-positive demeanor, with a team-first attitude • Good prioritization skills and a love of hustling! This is a small but busy environment • A love of giving great service to others • Strong organizational skills Physical Requirements: • Frequently raise or lower objects up to 40 pounds from one level to another regularly • Remain on feet in upright position for continuous periods of time • Walk throughout store, including to other buildings and outdoor areas • Exerting force on a regular basis so object is moved to or from team member • Carrying objects up to 40 pounds on a regular basis • Grasping and/or picking up objects • Regularly reaching for objects • Bending forward by bending at waist or bending legs and spine
