Asst Registrar Student Success



Posting Summary
The Assistant Registrar for Student Success supports the coordination of university-wide retention efforts through Navigate360, the University's student success platform. Support the development and implementation of a comprehensive student advancement strategy that fosters continued engagement beyond orientation. This role emphasizes proactive communication with students and close collaboration with campus partners to ensure students are connected to the resources they need to succeed and to support effective, coordinated retention initiatives. Serve as a primary point of contact for users of Navigate360 across campus, assisting with troubleshooting their needs. Provide training sessions on how to effectively and efficiently use Navigate360 to promote student success to users across campus. Assist with analysis of retention data, change of student status forms, Navigate360 utilization rates, and other student record level data. Process, track, and communicate with students who are looking to return to UVM as re-entry students and to support enrollment goals. Clarify and interpret university policies and procedures for faculty, staff and students. Assist with Commencement tasks. The Assistant Registrar will report to the Associate Registrar for Student Success and Retention.

Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field with 2-3 years of experience in a higher education setting, particularly in registrar services or related areas.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to craft inclusive content and engage effectively with diverse audiences, including students, families, and campus stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability and commitment to providing responsive, empathetic, and culturally competent customer service in a student-centered environment.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with issues related to student transition, access, engagement, and retention.
  • Demonstrated discretion in handling sensitive or confidential student information.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), and comfort learning new systems and technology tools.
  • Experience with or willingness to learn tools such as Banner (SIS), Navigate360, Slate (CRM), and Drupal (web content management).
  • Commitment to fostering inclusion and belonging in all aspects of work and student engagement.






Desirable Qualifications
  • Master's degree in higher education, student affairs, communication, or a related field.
  • Experience using Banner, Navigate360, Slate or other CRM platforms for student communication and data tracking.
  • Proficiency with Drupal or similar web content management systems used in higher education.
  • Familiarity with managing communication workflows for incoming students and families.
  • Knowledge of best practices in student onboarding, transition, and retention.
  • Experience with data-informed outreach and assessment practices that support student success.
  • Deep understanding of the needs and experiences of first-generation, transfer, and other underrepresented student populations.





Anticipated Pay Range
$55,000 to $63,000

Special Conditions
A probationary period may be required, Occasional evening and/or weekends required (if non-exempt position, may result in overtime), This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule with an option to split time between campus and elsewhere, in accordance with the university telecommuting policy, Background Check required for this position
