Expected Base Pay Scale (USD)

$160,000 - $192,400 annual base salary. The successful candidate’s base pay depends on job-related skills, qualifications, experience, geographic location, and market conditions. The expected base pay scale may be adjusted based on market conditions.

Responsibilities

As an Architect RF IC Design Engineer, your responsibilities will include designing high performance RF and analog circuits per specified requirements and direct layout technicians to implement circuits using industry standard Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools.

Minimum Qualifications

Requirements of an Architect RF IC Design Engineer include a BS or MS (preferred) in Electrical Engineering and 20+ years of industry experience in the following areas:

  • Strong RF system architecting skills
  • Exceptional RF Analog circuit design skills
  • Experience above 15 GHz preferred
  • Ability to provide oversight to an RF design team
  • Extensive experience with Cadence EDA (Composer/Virtuoso) tools
  • Extensive experience with SpectreRF, Spectre, HSPICE
  • Experience with field solver software such as EMX, ANSYS, Keysight ADS, Helic, etc.
  • Strong analytical/problem solving skills and pronounced attention to details
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must be comfortable working across geographies
  • This job position will or is likely to involve compliance with ITAR Regulations so all employees working in this capacity must be eligible under ITAR citizenship requirements, and accordingly applicants must be U.S. Citizens or U.S. Permanent Residents

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in creating and maintaining RF system link budgets
  • Experience in creating top level architecture specifications and sub-block specifications
  • Experience with designing custom RF front-end blocks such as: Wide-band LNA’s, isolation switches, match networks programmable attenuators, AGC, active/passive baluns, active/passive mixers, signal injection using custom couplers/transformers, active/passive mixers, power detectors, synthesizers, LO distribution, external LO interfaces, PTAT current references, baseband analog circuits
  • Experience in Bipolar, BiCMOS and CMOS technologies
  • Experience with handling high IC input power up to +17dBm
  • Full channel parasitic extraction and EM simulation experience
  • Experience with mitigation of temperature sensitivity
  • Knowledge on how to perform full channel simulation analysis for S/(N+D)
  • Experience with package to die EM co-simulation
  • Process corner model generation based on Monte Carlo analysis of PDK device models
  • Experience with hardware debugging
