Job Description
Full Time (Non-Exempt, Hourly)
Onsite at 2091 Main Street, Colchester VT 05446
Schedule of Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:30pm, plus a Saturday rotation
Starting rate is $33 an hour but can increase based on experience
Qualifications:
- Must have own tools
- VT Inspection (preferred, but not required)
- ASE Certification (preferred, but not required)
- Valid Drivers License
- Must be able to pass our Background Checks (required)
- Must be able to pass our Pre-Employment Drug Test & on-going random drug testing (required)
- High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
- A minimum of 2 years in general fleet maintenance and repair or a combination of qualified training (such as tech school) and experience is required.

Summary
We are seeking a Fleet Mechanic/Fleet Technician to join our team at SSTA. In this role, you will be responsible for the repair work and maintenance of the companies cars, vans, trucks, and other motor vehicles in the companies fleet.

Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Inspect vehicles and related equipment to locate and determine the extent of necessary overhaul or repair.
- Perform general overhaul and repair work on hybrid, gasoline, and electric powered engines.
- Inspect, adjust, and replace necessary units and related parts including valves, hoses, belts, and alternators.
- Repair cooling, fuel, electrical, and exhaust systems; tune engines using standard testing equipment.
- Diagnose, repaid, and maintain hydraulic systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance work on vehicles, including lubrication and oil changes.
- Fabricate and weld repair equipment as necessary.
- Maintain records on all maintenance and repair work performed on the work orders or as requested and regulated.

Skills:
- Proficient in methods, materials, equipment and tools used in vehicle and equipment maintenance and repair.
- Proficient in mechanical and electrical systems of gasoline, electric, and hybrid engines.
- Proficient in the methods and techniques of welding and fabrication.
- Proficient in operating and repairing characteristics of hydraulic systems.
- Capable of basic computer skills which include typing and data entry.
- Proficient in inspection and utilizing equipment to locate and diagnose mechanical electrical and hydraulic problems; and determine corrective procedures.
- Proficient in communication & understanding; both orally and in writing with all levels of personnel.
- Proficient in time management and the ability to work both independently and with others.
