Job Description
Be able, willing, and qualified to perform the work described here for the entire length of the
contract. Workers will plant, maintain and harvest various vegetables and herbs. Work will
include both greenhouse and field work (ie planting, transplanting, weeding, thinning, hoeing,
and other tasks. Sort, wash, pack to prepare crops for storage and shipping, as well as
transport and deliver crops from the field to farm and retail stand. Load and unload trucks and
other farm vehicles, set up and operate irrigation equipment, cut brush/vegetation in fields, and
around buildings and equipment. Work in extreme weather from damp and cool to hot and
humid. Perform physically demanding work requiring standing, stooping, bending, and kneeling
for extended periods of time. Lift and carry 50 pounds frequently. Be available Monday through
Saturday at variable beginning and ending times depending on crop and other factors. Take
direction in simple English. Tools furnished at no charge to worker.
