Northeast Kingdom Community Action (NEKCA) is looking for a Director of Finance (DOF) to join our dedicated team and make a meaningful impact in the lives of Vermonters. With over forty years of service in the Northeast Kingdom, NEKCA is committed to improving the quality of life for all members of our community.
As DOF, you will play a crucial role in shaping our financial strategies, ensuring sustainability, and fostering partnerships that drive our mission forward. The Director of Finance will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team to meet NEKCA's strategic goals and promote our Core Values throughout the agency.
The ideal candidate for this position is a strategic and analytical thinker who will lead NEKCA's finance operations. This role involves planning, managing, and controlling the agency's finance, accounting, and benefit activities while ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. The Director of Finance will oversee the Finance Department and must possess the ability to think and act independently, understanding the comprehensive programs and grant requirements that fund a nonprofit agency.
Collaboration is key, as the Director of Finance will work closely with the Executive Director, Board of Directors, agency auditors, funder grant managers, and the agency leadership team, which includes department heads. Building trust among all stakeholders, particularly the fiscal team, while supporting the agency’s values and mission, is essential.
