Job Description
OverviewThe OnBase Platform Administrator is responsible for the operational support, administration, and continued evolution of the State of Vermont’s OnBase platform. This position supports multiple agencies. The incumbent will serve as both an OnBase System Administrator and Windows Systems Administrator, ensuring platform stability, security, and usability.
The role collaborates with business units, application vendors, developers, and end users to maintain the environment, resolve incidents, enable new functionality, and support enterprise digital workflow and document management solutions.
We are looking for the following skills:
- Experience supporting enterprise applications, preferably document management or workflow platforms.
- Experience providing customer support and ticket resolution.
- Experience with Windows server systems administration.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure IaaS
Certification Requirements
- OnBase System Administrator Certification must be achieved within the first six (6) months of employment.
- Certification must be maintained on a bi-annual basis (every 2 years).
- Continued employment is contingent on maintaining certification.
This position is Hybrid. The incumbent must be in the Montpelier, Vermont office at least three (3) days per week.
Essential Job Duties
- OnBase Platform Administration
- Maintain the OnBase platform for multiple agencies.
- Service customer requests and support tickets, including:
- User management and access control
- Security permissions and role assignments
- Configuration of new functionality
- Troubleshooting end-user platform issues
- Develop and maintain scan and indexing formats.
- Monitor platform health, storage, workflow queues, and performance.
- Install and configure OnBase modules as required.
- Perform upgrades, patches, and deployments to maintain platform currency.
- Work with application vendors (Hyland/OnBase and other associated vendors) to resolve technical issues.
- Participate in OnBase governance meetings, roadmap discussions, and strategy development.
- Develop and maintain documentation, including:
- Environment diagrams
- Configuration and deployment notes
- Standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Change records
Windows Systems Administration
- Maintain a standard workload of servers
- Perform systems administration tasks in accordance with established standards.
- Maintain responsible stewardship of assigned servers, including:
- Patching
- Monitoring
- Performance tuning
- Build professional relationships with business owners of assigned systems.
- Perform upgrades/rebuilds as required or requested by application owners.
- Analyze and mitigate security findings on a recurring basis (monthly at minimum).
- Service tickets in the IT ticking system, including cross-functional work outside assigned systems if needed.
- Participate in an on-call rotation if requested.
- Other duties as assigned.

Environmental Factors
Work is performed in a standard office setting, but some travel may be required for which private means of transportation should be available. Some maintenance work on assigned equipment may be necessary and some work outside of regular work schedule may be required.
