About the Role

NKHS is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Adult Outpatient Senior Therapist to join our dynamic outpatient behavioral health team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive diagnostic assessments, evidence-based therapeutic interventions, education, referrals, and consultations for adult patients in an outpatient setting. The ideal candidate will also utilize their advanced credentials and expertise to provide clinical supervision to interns and contribute to program development and community education initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive initial assessments to identify presenting concerns and guide treatment planning.
  • Deliver short-term individual, group, and family psychotherapy using evidence-based approaches.
  • Facilitate treatment and support groups related to behavioral health.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation, modeling best practices for recordkeeping.
  • Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary team members to enhance patient care.
  • Develop individualized treatment goals, monitor progress, and evaluate outcomes.
  • Provide crisis intervention, conflict resolution, and mediation when needed.
  • Teach, mentor, and provide clinical supervision for graduate interns and therapists-in-training.
  • Participate in program planning, staff development activities, and community education programs.

Additional duties may be assigned based on organizational needs.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • No direct staff supervision required.
  • May provide clinical supervision to interns or assist in evaluating other therapists.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work across diverse populations.
  • Proficiency in developing treatment plans and delivering therapeutic interventions.
  • Ability to observe, assess, and document client progress accurately.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices, therapeutic techniques, and clinical standards.
  • Capability to mentor and evaluate students or clinicians in training.
  • Ability to manage crisis situations effectively.
