Job Description

The Vermont Department of Financial Regulation is seeking an Assistant Director for Consumer Services. This is an opportunity to lead the Consumer Services Section of the Insurance Division, which helps Vermonters navigate insurance issues and resolve insurance complaints. The ideal candidate is an experienced insurance professional with proven supervisory skills and the ability to interpret and apply complex insurance laws, regulations, and policy provisions.

Consumer Services investigates and mediates insurance complaints and provides educational outreach to the public, so the Assistant Director must be an effective communicator able to explain complex issues clearly and mediate conflicts with professionalism and empathy. If you're motivated by helping others and making a tangible difference for Vermonters, this is a deeply rewarding leadership role performed independently under the general supervision of the Director of Market Regulation.

Duties are performed in a standard office setting. Occasional travel may be required for which private means of transportation may be necessary. The job role involves individuals in potential adversary situations, and under some degree of stress.
