Sweet Tree Holdings is looking for Entry Level Woods Workers to join our team!

A Woods Worker is responsible for the hands on work of fall maintenance, tapping, leak checking, leak repairs, and tap pulling. They can perform a variety of tasks throughout these seasons based on what the woods manager they report to needs for the day-to-day operation of the bush. This is a seasonal position (October - April/May).

THIS IS CONSIDERED A FULL TIME SEASONAL POSITION 

Duties/Responsibilities

• Fall maintenance of the sugarbush and preparation for tapping and leak checking.
• Tapping to Sweet Tree’s tapping quality standards.
• Leak checking and repairs during sugar season and maintain Sweet Tree’s vacuum standards and quality.
• Pull taps expediently with none being missed.
• Maintain Sweet Trees values and culture within the sugarbush.

Required Skills/Abilities

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to speak and understand the English language is required for safe and effective performance of the job.

Education and Experience

• Related experience preferred.
• At least one month of experience in sugaring or other agricultural work required.

Physical Requirements

• Physically able to be standing and walking for most of the day in woods and mountainous environments.
• Physically able to install and operate sugaring equipment.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.
• Able to work independently or in small groups in remote settings

Other

• Employees are required to provide their own layers and outerwear appropriate and effective for temperatures as low as -20 degrees Fahrenheit/-28 degrees Celsius and winter precipitation, including boots, parka/jacket, rain gear (pants and jackets), hats, gloves, and base layers.
