Job Description
Job Summary:
The Ground Person is a key contributor to the production of precast concrete products, performing a variety of manual labor tasks. This position involves working outdoors in all weather conditions to support the smooth, efficient, and safe operation of the production process. As an entry-level role, the primary responsibility is to work under the direction of the Yard Crew Leader and Transportation Manager, providing essential support to the team. The Ground Person is also responsible for the loading, unloading, and shipping of precast concrete units.
Essential Functions:
1. Safety always wins. Transport finished products and other items throughout the facility using manual labor and equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and cranes, while strictly adhering to all safety regulations and protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), to ensure a safe working environment at all times.
2. Dedication. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the worksite, including sweeping, removing debris, and organizing tools and equipment.
3. Results matter. Prepare and stage materials and tools for the next day to ensure an efficient workflow. Communicate any missing materials or required information to the Crew Leader to prevent workflow interruptions.
4. Humility. Collaborate effectively with team members to meet production goals and deadlines, utilizing two-way radios and hand signals for clear and efficient communication.
