LIFE SKILLS AIDE JOB DESCRIPTION DEFINITION
The Life Skills Aide (LSA) is a broad position responsible for providing direct service care to residents of EEF. The programming/service plan for each resident is set by Case Managers and the Office and it is the LSA’s responsibility to follow this direction on a day-to-day basis. It is critical that LSAs are attentive to residents’ health and safety.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES
The LSA role has many aspects to it and these are outlined here. LSAs will:
• Ensure health and safety of all residents one is working with at all times.
• Report any suspected neglect, exploitation or abuse by staff towards residents or resident-to-resident to the Vermont Adult Protective Services and to the Eagle Eye Farm
administration office.
• Cue and/or redirect residents when they are engaging in inappropriate behavior or unsafe actions.
• Diffuse tense situations by offering healthy alternatives or by removing residents (with
words, not actions) away from the situation.
• Operate a vehicle safely and obey ALL traffic laws.
• Assist residents with daily activities including, but not limited to: grocery shopping,
laundry, dishes, cooking, teeth brushing, household cleaning, and preparing clothing
changes.
• Join residents for outings to restaurants, shops, or events as directed.
• Write daily reports detailing the events of the day.
• Assist residents with vocational activities on a case-by-case basis, as able.

• Take residents to appointments and fill out appointment forms to be returned to the office.
• Complete daily checklists specific to each location.
• Assist in snow removal of walkways, stairs, decks, and exits.
