5 Assistant Hard Cider Makers –– needed for permanent, full-time employment. 

Job Duties: Monitor and execute all production steps for the production of hard cider following Standard Operating Procedures for receiving juice, monitoring fermentation, fermentation additions (yeast, nutrients, etc.), blending, filtration, carbonation, and packaging; Ensure that all Federal and State Regulations and standards for product freshness, food safety, weights and measures, store safety, employee safety, refrigeration, and sanitation are met; Clean and sanitize all production, inventory areas and equipment of hard cider production in accordance with GAP and HACCP requirements; Taking vat readings, flow meter readings and sampling of vats as per work Instruction; to include checking sugar levels during and after fermentation with a hydrometer and checking carbonation levels with a Zahm & Nagel instrument; Maintain records pertaining to monitoring fermentations and the addition of yeast and nutrients; Blending, Filtering and Sampling of all liquids as per Management Instruction; Assist in filling orders of self-distribution and FOB shipments to distributors; Packing off canned product during a canning run, including filling can trays and applying quad-pack holders, checking for defects such as short fills and seam failures, and palletizing product.  

The employer will provide on-the-job training. The employer will provide all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job at no charge.  

Requirements: Requires 24 months of experience in cidery, brewery, or winery industries to include the following: Ensuring activities are carried out according to company Food Safety, Environmental, Health & Safety and Quality standards; Filling and emptying of tankers; Setting up and executing liquid transfers and blends; Vat readings and flow meter readings and sampling of vats; Blending, filtering and sampling of all liquids. 

Wages/Terms: $30.89/hr., and $46.34/hr. for OT. 40 hours per week.
