Position Statement
The Primary Care Educator is responsible for coordinating the education, training, and professional development of the staff in primary care, coordinating medical practice orientation, competency evaluations and maintenance, orientation programs and in-services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinates primary care staff orientation.
- Develops, reviews and ensures the maintenance of competencies.
- Provides ongoing education to all primary care staff, including the community health team and primary care providers.
- Serves as a resource to staff, managers, directors and providers within primary care.
- Assists with continuous quality improvement readiness, planning and activities to ensure compliance with quality standards such as, but not limited to, NCQA and Meaningful Use or their equivalents
