Job Description
At Clara Martin Center we have an opening for a full time Supported Employment Specialist working in our Randolph VT (3 days/week) and Bradford VT (2 days/week) offices.
Responsibilities:
- Provide counseling and training relative to employment skills planning for young adults transitioning from school and into employment, and for older adults seeking employment.
- Build community relationships and opportunities to create and maintain part time / full time employment options for our clients in our local communities.
- Responsible for the completion and coordination of clinical documentation and treatment plans for a supported employment caseload and will work as an essential part of a behavioral health treatment team.
Successful candidates must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, and to teach professional communication skills to others to support employment.
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in psychology, Business or related field is desired. Two years of experience in community based or employment work preferred. A combination of education, previous experience and the requisite skill set to perform the essential functions of the position may be considered in lieu of a college degree.
Working knowledge of Supported Employment Best Practices and trends in the supported employment field; working knowledge of the fundamental types of emotional, behavioral, or mental health issues related to the population to be served; and working knowledge of a variety of service modalities to meet the needs of the population served is strongly desired.
