RESEARCH SCIENTISTDepartment of Family Medicine, Larner College of Medicine, Burlington, VT

The Department of Family Medicine at the Larner College of Medicine is seeking an individual with experience, skills and interest in growing a vibrant culture of team science within the Department of Family Medicine. Candidates should hold a PhD degree, with at least 5 years' post-doctoral experience in healthcare-relevant research. Candidates should have experience in research operations and regulation, data collection and management, analytics and scientific writing. Preference will be given to those with evidence of success with research mentoring, particularly relating to peer review publication and extramural funding proposals.

The primary role of the Faculty Scientist is to support the planning, implementation and successful publication of peer-reviewed scientific manuscripts for team-based science within the Department of Family Medicine. Annually, the DFM will support 2-3 ongoing research studies within priority areas for high impact science and potential for future funding. Current priority areas include:- Scalable "storylistening" for loneliness in rural caregivers- Artificial Intelligence analyses/documentation of home visit clinical encounters- Point of Care Ultrasound

Additional duties may include 1:1 consultation with faculty for support of additional research ideas and scientific writing. The is a 1.0 FTE on-site position.
