Assistant Director for Campus Programs



Posting Summary
Provide leadership over a dynamic student activities program. Through event development and production, plan one-time and ongoing programs that address student social/entertainment interests, inclusive excellence, sense of belonging, and educational needs. Provide leadership for program development for new students during Opening Weekend that supports New Student Orientation, Week of Welcome (Fall and Winter), and throughout the first six weeks of class. Lead cross-departmental and student organization program planning. Serves as a programming resource to other campus programmers and student organizations. Duties include managing and supporting a wide variety of all-campus programs. Manage programming budgets and participate in performer contract negotiations. Functionally supervise one full-time Campus Programs Coordinator and administratively supervise one Graduate Assistant. Serves as a secondary advisor to the UVM Program Board. Responsible for supporting the mission, philosophy, and strategic initiatives for the Department of Student Life, the Division of Student Affairs, and the University of Vermont. This position reports to the Associate Director of Involvement.

Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)

Master's degree in Student Affairs or Counseling and one to two years related experience required. Experience with event or program planning and implementation, familiarity with college environment and the schedule/needs of college students required. Experience supervising professional staff or students. Effective interpersonal and communication skills required. Basic computer skills and social media skills required. Demonstrated commitment to inclusive excellence, environmental stewardship, and fostering a collaborative environment required.

Desirable Qualifications
Skills in supervising, advising, leadership development, and program development highly desirable. Valid US Driver's license. Experience with EMS and Engage

Anticipated Pay Range
$60,000-$64,000
