Job Description
Description: We currently have an opening for an experienced Warehouse Worker, forklift experience and a Class B CDL a must. This position will perform various warehouse tasks related to the kitting of raw materials for production work orders. Work with team leader to confirm the accurate and timely delivery of material to production. Perform other warehouse duties when needed.
Skills: • High school education, plus three to four years of relevant work experience, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired. Class B CDL preferred but will consider Class A. • Good working knowledge of warehouse operations, with food warehousing experience desirable. Knowledge of relevant shipping regulations and methods. • Ability to operate a forklift. • Ability to do extensive heavy lifting and moving of materials. • Ability to work in a freezer for prolonged periods. • Ability to work cooperatively with other company personnel in a team-oriented work setting. • Flexibility of hours may be required in the event of shift changes. • Good basic reading, writing and math skills. • Ability to communicate productively. • Ability to manage time and multiple priorities, meet deadlines. • Ability to participate in and support company stands, purpose and principles. • Ability to exercise judgment and make decisions appropriately. Work Environment: • Warehouse environment with regular lifting and operation of manual lifts and industrial fork trucks. • Must be able to do extensive heavy lifting (up to 70 pounds) and moving of materials. • Must be able to work in a freezer (-20°F) for prolonged periods (with appropriate personal protective equipment). • Will be assigned to one of three shifts. May be required to work off-shift schedules for projects and/or vacation coverage. • Occasional travel may be required between Rhino Foods locations at 79 Industrial Parkway in Burlington and Boyer Circle in Williston.
Duties: • Responsible for all duties related to an assigned area within the department. • Receive incoming raw materials, matching purchase orders with delivery invoices. • Put finished product and raw materials into inventory, stacking properly and inspecting all products going into freezer. • Assist Water Strider to keep production lines supplied with raw material. Looking forward to identify any upcoming issues and communicating them to team leader and production. • Operate forklift and electronic pallet jack in moving materials to various locations. • Unload and organize incoming deliveries of raw materials from both outside vendors and company trucks. Verifying amounts, lots and pallet numbers. • Assist the department manager in carrying out various administrative tasks, such as training new employees, coordinating and monitoring daily operations within the warehouse, preparing written records and reports, ensuring that product stays at specified temperatures, inspecting trucks and other equipment to ensure safety, planning work schedules, and the like. • Perform various general warehouse clean up and maintenance tasks. • Attend department work team and company staff/committee meetings. Participate in process improvement efforts. Keep current on and implement new warehouse procedures. • Maintain inventory levels of supplies, notify purchasing to reorder. • Monitor Gaylord recycling trailer and reorder as needed. • Report all inventory discrepancies to team leader and inventory control. • Follow all department operating and safety procedures. * Act as back up CDL driver to cover for vacations, etc.
