The Role at a Glance

The Sr. RIA Account Manager will develop, direct, implement, and maintain a business plan to achieve sales, growth, profitability, retention, and market share goals for the RIA channel. You will build, enhance, and direct the relationship with clients to ensure clients’ overall service needs are met and high satisfaction levels achieved.

What you’ll be doing

+ Maintains knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends for the RIA channel, assesses the impact, and collaborates with management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future solutions.

+ Serves as a subject matter expert to internal/external stakeholders by developing and maintaining an advanced understanding of LFG’s products, services and operational structure for your assigned area(s) of responsibility.

+ Directs and develops business on behalf of the Lincoln Financial Group (LFG) in a manner that supports a positive company image, in compliance with all required rules and regulations and ethical in all considerations.

+ Identifies, recommends and implements process improvements that reduce workloads or improve quality for your assigned area(s) of responsibility.

+ Collaborates with internal stakeholders to ensure the proper processing of all sold products from time of sale to issuance.

+ Develops, directs, implements & maintains a business plan to achieve sales & growth goals for targeted firms including having a multifaceted understanding of key contacts, how they market themselves, market segments they target, how they operate to establish relationships &/or value proposition.

+ Develops, maintains & executes complex client relationship plans to ensure overall service needs are satisfied & achieve the business/profitability/retention objectives.

+ Serves as a subject matter expert to internal stakeholders & consults on complex relationship management/sales solutions to optimize client satisfaction & achieve desired business results.

+ Builds, enhances & maintains effective relationships with more complex client organizations to ensure a high level of client satisfaction & retention & increase sales revenues & profitability.

+ Identifies & resolves complex client issues/concerns in a timely & collaborative manner.

+ Identifies clients with retention risk & develops & executes complex plans to retain clients & notifies management.

+ Develops & maintains more complex plans to support retention sales & product breadth growth within existing clients.

+ Profiles assigned territory to identify and build relationships with those more complex clients who would be interested in LFG offerings.

+ Cultivates, directs, & maintains increasingly senior level client relationships.

+ Develops, directs, & executes more complex plans to increase/gain opportunities to introduce LFG management & other resources to targeted clients.

+ Develops a comprehensive understanding of existing/targeted clients including market segments, how they operate, and/or their value proposition(s).

+ Builds & directs a more complex relationship platform by identifying senior contacts within targeted clients to achieve profitable sales & LFG’s product breath growth.

+ Actively participates in financial services and/or insurance industry trade organizations to have LFG participate by partaking in sponsorship and/or speaking opportunities.

+ Supports retention efforts & looks for opportunities to cross sell/ partner with internal stakeholders.

+ Conducts client meetings & attends finalist presentations to achieve sales targets.

+ Develops & maintains relationships with internal stakeholders to achieve sales objectives

+ Provides feedback & intelligence to internal partners on existing & targeted clients.

+ Maintains expense budgets to set limits.

+ Meets or exceeds all department and/or sales goals/targets for your assigned clients.

What we’re looking for

+ 3-5+ years of experience in relationship management that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position

+ Undergraduate degree or 4+ years of comparable work experience

+ Experience working with RIA firms and familiarity with RIA landscape required

+ Confident, comfortable communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills.

+ Strong presentation skills with demonstrated ability to influence at all levels of management through clear, informed and logical discussions/presentations

+ Ability to read, analyze and interpret both internal and external documents such as general media/publications, professional journals, technical procedures, governmental regulations, policies, proposals, and standard operating procedures.

+ Ability to evaluate information and the implications of a course of action or solution.

+ Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

+ Evaluate trends in data or information.

+ Ability to work with others in a team environment.

+ Demonstrated ability to identify and recommend processes improvements.

+ Demonstrated excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and multi-task while maintaining strict attention to detail.

+ Demonstrates advanced relationship management skills with internal clients (e.g. management, peers and colleagues) and external clients.

+ Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative style.

+ Demonstrates strong project management skills including, critical ability to coordinate and balance multiple projects in a time-sensitive environment, under pressure, and meeting deadlines.

+ Finds common ground and can gain collaboration among management, colleagues and peers.

+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

+ Successfully completes regulatory and job training requirements.

Pay Range: $194,000 – $481,000

Actual base pay could vary based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln’s total rewards package for employees. In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual. Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln’s standard benefits package.
