CAM Developer

In this role you will Develop and improve automation and processes for programming of CNC machines and CNC control software through incremental improvement and the introduction of new process technology.

Key Responsibilities:
*Identify opportunities within CNC Programming and manufacturing production processes, and drive continuous improvement within the associated teams.
*Collect data to establish priorities for new projects, and to validate the benefits of new implementations.
*Plan, manage and execute new development projects.
*Develop or improve existing software and CAD/CAM automation tools to increase productivity, quality or process robustness of the Programming and Manufacturing teams.
*Work collaboratively with Manufacturing Engineers, Design Engineers, Standards Team, Mfg Leadership and the CNC Programming team to support new manufacturing initiatives through machine software (macros/subroutines) and CNC Programming tools and supporting software.
*Maintain production programming skills to maintain user perspective on software tool development and to provide high volume flex support to programming team.
*Other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Experience:
*Strong investigational skills with the ability to identify root cause and contributing causes of problems
*Effective problem solving with high levels of creativity to find solutions
*Extensive experience in manufacturing and programming with an understanding of a variety of manufacturing processes. Experience with automation of CNC programming is preferred. 
*Software development experience with preference from one or more of the following languages: C; C++; UFunc; GRIP, Tcl, xml, MacroB
*Experience with postprocessors (Preferably UG Post) and ability to create customized functions within these systems using custom code functions is preferred. 
*Experience with Verification and/or Simulation software to validate NC Programs virtually (Preferably Vericut) is preferred.
