Real Estate & Housing Coordinator Williams owns and manages approximately 130 faculty/staff residential housing units in Williamstown, from single homes to multi-family apartments, that provide convenient, safe, and economical housing to attract and retain junior faculty and new administrative staff. The Real Estate & Housing Coordinator (REHC) is the most visible staff member in the Office of Real Estate which is responsible for the acquisition, management, leasing, and sale of College Rental Housing & Commercial properties. The Office of Real Estate also administers the College’s mortgage program for eligible faculty and administrative staff. The REHC serves as the primary point of contact for new and existing employees who are either seeking, or are already in college housing units. The REHC also helps nontraditional-aged students (often veterans and transfers) find appropriate housing for their families. The REHC also interfaces with commercial tenants, retailers and merchants, who occupy college-owned properties on Spring Street. The REHC coordinates with other campus offices, including facilities, HR, and legal, to solve real-estate-related issues. Our current need is for you to take the reins and manage the day-to-day operations of our housing program including a bi-annual housing lottery. Our Real Estate Office is in a moment of transformation, and you will have the opportunity to shape this role and grow within the larger Real Estate program. You will be the chief matchmaker and problem-solver when it comes to ensuring that Williams College faculty and staff find housing within the portfolio of college-owned units. You will partner with colleagues to maintain the quality of our housing stock. You will work with commercial properties on Spring St. You will be the primary point of contact for all things real estate. Qualifications: We are looking for an individual who can learn the ropes, improve/streamline the process and take on new projects as they develop this position into something bigger with increasing responsibilities. At least 2 years relevant experience; with experience in property management and high-level customer service preferred Eagerness to wear many hats and jump into all tasks required to ensure the smooth running of the housing program. Problem solver with a high level of independence and initiative Keep track of complex and interconnected process Great communicator with the ability to mitigate stressful conversations with understanding and calm Enthusiasm to be hands-on, meeting prospective tenants and tradespeople onsite to show and maintain units Application review will begin on November 9, 2021, and will continue until the position is filled.
