This position will be serving the Telecom Business and will assist in preparation of lump sum, unit rate, cost plus and conceptual cost estimates and analysis.
+ Responsible for estimate coordination and consolidation for all required cost components for a complete estimate.
+ Responsible for reviewing the client RFP documents to fully understand the scope of work, design criteria, deliverables, etc.
+ Reviews design scopes perform take-off quantities and bill of materials.
+ Works directly with Engineering and Construction to establish bases of quantities, specifications, constructions general conditions and execution approach.
+ Performs productivity analysis with construction team to help establish timelines and an execution strategy.
+ Develops direct labor, subcontractor and associated indirect cost for estimates.
+ Prepares contingency, escalation and reconciliation for estimates.
+ Performs comparisons of scope, quantities, and cost data between projects.
+ Ensures all estimates are reviewed by Estimating Manager prior any management reviews.
+ Prepares cost estimate reports for management presentations (Cost Review Boards, Proposal Review Boards & Executive Review Boards)
+ Document the bases of estimate with all pertinent cost data and assumptions.
+ Uses experience and industry best practices for cost effectiveness and suggest alternatives where appropriate.
+ Update and maintain historical cost data to supports continuous improvement efforts.
+ BS or MS graduate in Construction Management or related field is preferred, or 5+ years construction estimating experience.
+ Understanding of construction means and methods.
+ Field/On-site construction experience
+ Electrical background and/or knowledge
+ Outside Plant (OSP) Fiber background and/or knowledge
+ The understanding of estimating principles/procedures
+ The understanding Cost principles/procedures
+ Strong mathematical skills
+ Strong analytical skills
5 to 10 years of relevant experience is required.
