Administrative Assistant Department of Dance The Williams College Department of Dance seeks an Administrative Assistant to support an atmosphere of learning and creativity. This is a 20 hour a week, fully benefited position with a negotiable schedule. Reporting to the Director of Dance, the administrative assistant will work directly with Faculty, Staff, and Students. The study of dance at Williams is grounded in the understanding that dance is a universal art form. The Dance Department provides the opportunity to study and experience dance as technique, composition, history, theory, and performance in the context of a liberal arts education. Responsibilities: Work closely with Faculty regarding ongoing course, office, and administrative needs Assist with preparation and maintenance of department reports, records, and accounts Attend department faculty meetings and create minutes Manage logistics for field trips and social events Assist with hiring Student Teaching Assistants Coordinate Student class needs with Faculty and Staff Process purchase orders, invoices, and department reimbursements Maintain Listserv, class rosters, ensemble rosters, audition announcements, department callboard, department website Coordinate with Production Manager regarding production-related needs Create advertising material for class events Coordinate with Outreach Manager for Performance-related advertising Support Guest Artists and Design Contractors with contracts, travel, and housing needs Qualifications: 1 year of administrative experience, preferably at an academic institution Strong computer skills and ability to adapt to new software Bookkeeping and accounting skills beneficial Excellent organizational skills with an ability to prioritize, organize and execute multiple tasks Excellent oral and written communication skills, including email correspondence and proofreading Ability to work with broadly diverse groups of students, faculty, and staff.
