GREENFIELD Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion – FT Management Non-Unit Position SALARY: $70,000 – $80,000 salary commensurate with qualifications and experience START DATE: December 1, 2021 THE COLLEGE: Greenfield Community College is located in the beautiful and historic Pioneer Valley of western Massachusetts, between the foothills of the Berkshire Mountains and the fertile farmland of the Connecticut River watershed. GCC is a public community college serving 3,000 people annually in credit courses and credit-free workshops. Known for the caring and supportive attitude of the faculty and staff, and for the broad support it enjoys from the surrounding community, the college is fully accredited by the New England Commission on Higher Education (NECHE). In addition to a strong Liberal Arts focus, the College offers a wide variety of innovative and successful programs including Farm and Food Systems, Engineering, Fine Arts, Nursing, and Adventure Education, as well as varied learning environments, from traditional classrooms, to hybrid and online distance learning, peer tutoring, one-on-one faculty-student advising, workforce development, and learning communities that cater to specific needs and interests. Close to fifty percent of Greenfield Community College students transfer to four-year colleges, and it is Smith College?s largest source of community college transfer students. Much of the College has undergone a multi-million dollar renovation that incorporates universal design principles to meet the needs of all our students. Greenfield Community College actively encourages and provides opportunities for leadership and professional development. GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: The Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) is a new position that will report directly to the President of Greenfield Community College. The Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion will collaborate across the campus to lead initiatives related to belonging and inclusion of underrepresented and minoritized populations on campus. This work will include conducting baseline and annual DEI assessments and inventories, providing analysis of findings to the senior leadership of the College, making recommendations that impact both employees and students at the College, developing DEI publications and media, integrating DEI across College literature and media, establishing a clear set of DEI deliverables in consultation with College senior leadership. This position will lead efforts at Greenfield Community College (GCC), a small, rural community college in Western Massachusetts that is dedicated to bringing innovative and inclusive practices to the region. The Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion will provide leadership and direction across the campus. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: ? Supported by the work of college-wide governance committees, the Director of DEI will work collaboratively with other college administrators to advance our commitment to equity and inclusion, and serves as both leader and consultant in the effort to recruit and retain both employees and students of varied backgrounds and interests and engage minoritized communities in College outreach activities; ? Provide leadership, vision, and the promotion of a collaborative and coordinated approach to DEI work; ? Bring together and provide structure to the many DEI related initiatives across the campus; ? Serve as an active member with The Leading for Change Racial Equity and Justice Institute (REJI), a region-wide collaboration of institutions committed to racial educational equity. ? Operationalizes the College strategic plan as it relates to DEI initiatives and specifically guides the work of a DEI implementation plan; ? Designs systems for assessment of DEI initiatives and develops plans for continuous improvement; ?
