Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES   includes the following but other duties may be assigned.

The delivery driver takes direction from and is responsible for performing work assigned by the dispatch/service manager.  The employee drives a Bobtail propane delivery truck and fills tanks for residential and commercial customers at their site.   A delivery driver makes 25-35 customer stops on a typical day working in all weather and driving conditions.   The delivery driver fills customer tanks of all sizes by pulling the hose from the truck to the tank location.

Operates in a safe manner to minimize accidents to personnel, customers and property.

Provide service to customers at the direction of the dispatch/service manager.

Communicate any issues and/or problems immediately.

Maintain professional image and respectful relations with customers and the general public at all times.

The employee conducts the pre trip inspection of the assigned vehicle, loads and unloads the vehicle as needed.

Assist in customer tank setting and maintenance.

Perform leak checks and replace regulators.

Complete and submit accurate daily paperwork.

LICENSING, CERTIFICATION & JOB REQUIREMENTS    Must have a Class B CDL with Hazmat & tanker endorsement and meet applicable state and federal licensing and certification requirements, CETP certifications, Book 1 Basic Practices and Book 2 Bobtail Delivery.  Must have a valid DOT physical.  Must have the ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and random drug and alcohol testing.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS   While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel and squat.  The employee must regularly lift and or move up to 50 pounds and frequently lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.  Must be able to climb a ladder.


 Hours:  8–10 hours per day

Days:  5 days per week M- F  with Saturdays required as needed during the winter

Extreme working conditions:  Up to 95 degrees in summer and as low -20 degrees in winter.

Noise Level:  Truck engine, pump and traffic noises

Fumes/Gases/Odors:  Yes, Diesel, Propane

Personal Protective Equipment Required: Eyes, Gloves, Fluorescent Vest/Shirt/Jacket
