POSITION SUMMARY:

The C++/C Software Engineer II/III develops applications and middleware software that runs on state of the art computing hardware. This software performs specific duties, while also interfacing with other upstream software components and downstream intelligent devices to create a complete industrial printing workflow. Software designs utilizes communications protocols to interact with other system distributed components or shared memory interfaces and OS APIs for process to process communications. Software designs are multithreaded and optimized for performance. All software developed runs on modern commercial operating systems; Windows and Linux. Software solution are intended for industrial use and address existing and growing digital Inkjet commercial printing markets needs and opportunities. Software executes on State of the Art Intel based Computers utilizing Windows or ARM based microprocessor inside embedded computers utilizing Linux.

Designs require use of multi core microprocessor(s) to meet algorithm processing speed needs and multi-Giga Bit TCP/IP communication lane(s) to move large amounts of image data quickly. Software solutions are designed to be concurrent, parallel, and asynchronous for they utilize multiple tasks or threads that take advantage of multiple core CPUs or multiple processor computing architecture.

Software algorithms can be used to compose or enhance PDF images for print, render and rasterize images for either gray scale or color printing and to perform image processing. Software needs to efficiently manage the movement, distribution, and streaming of large amounts data, while keeping up with fast printing speeds demands of modern single pass, high resolution, high speed, wide image, digital printing presses.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job function satisfactorily. Typically requires a minimum of 3 / 6 years of related experience (with a Bachelor’s degree) or 2 / 5 years (with a Master’s degree)

DUTIES AND SKILLS:

+ Experience developing C++/C for Intel based PCs running Windows Operating Systems (Preferred)

+ Experience developing C code for ARM microprocessor running Linux.

+ Experience developing C/C++ code that utilizes multiple threads, multiple process and managing challenges of parallel and concurrent programming

+ Understanding of data structures, algorithms, state machine software design solutions.

+ Understanding of memory management, multicore processors, and distributed systems design.

+ Experienced writing, tuning and debugging C++/C software running on modern Windows Operating System

+ Experienced writing, tuning and debugging C software running on modern Linux Operating System

+ Programming TCP Sockets and Ethernet for both Client and Server sides communications

+ Experience using Visual Studio/MSVC and Eclipse/GNU for software solutions development, tuning, testing, and debugging.

+ Create software design documentation throughout the development process. Skilled at reviewing designs with peers and stakeholders.
